ImageFIRST Central Florida Receives HLAC Accreditation
ImageFIRST™ Healthcare Laundry Specialists' Central Florida Location Gets Accredited by the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC)
ImageFIRST™ Central Florida now among industry elite in safeguarding patient safety through vigorous infection control
Tampa, FL – July 10, 2011 – The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC), the nation's only independent, third-party inspection organization for healthcare laundry facilities, has awarded the Central Florida branch of ImageFIRST™ Healthcare Laundry Specialists its HLAC Accreditation. This accreditation assures customers that ImageFIRST™ Central Florida is meeting or exceeding the industry's highest standards for processing healthcare textiles, including strict adherence to federal guidelines.
ImageFIRST™ is the largest and fastest-growing provider of linen and garment rental and laundry services to medical practices throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico. With 36 locations and more than 300 trained employees, ImageFIRST™ maintains one of the highest customer retention rates in the industry. The company's commitment to delivering top-quality products and services has kept ImageFIRST™ at the forefront of developing policies and procedures to safeguard the health of both patients and staff through streamlined laundering processes that exceed federal guidelines. This commitment is reflected in the HLAC accreditation of ImageFIRST™ Central Florida. As J.C. Ryan, the general manager of ImageFIRST™ Central Florida, explains, "The HLAC accreditation is a validation of the professional production procedures we have always used. Our customers deserve the best quality linen and service, and delivering that quality and service is an ImageFIRST™ trademark."
The inspection process for HLAC accreditation is incredibly thorough, and it is generally beyond the expertise of the average customer to complete such an inspection themselves. In fact, the whole reason that the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council was developed was to provide an independent, third-party evaluation to ensure safety standards are being met so that customers could be assured that their patients and staff are being protected by the laundries handling their healthcare textiles. As a result, customers can be assured that a laundry who has received their HLAC accreditation:
- Employs managers who understand and follow key government mandates for handling, processing, and transporting healthcare textiles.
- Is following OSHA'S Bloodborne Pathogens Standard to the letter.
- Designed and maintains their facility to provide for the health and safety of laundry personnel.
- Properly trains all personnel who handle healthcare textiles.
- Follows recommended "good industry practices" in its systems, policies, and procedures that will provide the consistent delivery of healthcare textiles in the quality and quantity expected by the customer.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence, constantly challenging itself to meet the highest industry standards.
The accreditation of ImageFIRST™ Central Florida by HLAC is neutral, tangible proof of the assurance that ImageFIRST™ Central Florida has always made to its customers: We deliver confidence, convenience, and patient comfort. None of these can be delivered without ensuring patient safety, which the HLAC accreditation assures customers is being vigorously protected.
