KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – August 16, 2021 – ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists, a leading provider of laundry services for the healthcare industry, made a significant donation of various medical linen products to the Illinois-based nonprofit One World Surgery to support their recent project to build a health center in the Dominican Republic.
Five billion people lack access to surgical care globally. One World Surgery focuses on providing exceptional surgical and primary care to underserved communities throughout the globe. Through the dedicated efforts of physicians, clinical staff, and volunteer support staff, OWS can provide life-changing medical care to thousands in developing countries, such as Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
One World Surgery recently announced that they are expanding their service efforts in the Dominican Republic. With the construction of a new site to include a surgery center, primary care clinic, and visitor center, the community will have the opportunity to receive long-term, quality health care.
ImageFIRST, a medical linen and laundry provider headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, has partnered with One World Surgery previously — supplying their Honduras facility with the linen and scrubs needed at the time. When they learned about OWS’s new construction project in the Dominican Republic, they reconnected to learn about how they could help support their new facility.
“We partnered with One World Surgery several years ago when they were beginning their impactful work in Honduras,” said Bill Roberts, Senior Vice President of Sales at ImageFIRST. “I had recently heard their call-out about needing supplies for their newest project in the Dominican Republic; I knew that ImageFIRST would be eager to be involved again.”
ImageFIRST donated over 2,500 medical linen products totaling more than $10,000 to One World Surgery to support their new facilities in the Dominican Republic. Donated items included products such as patient gowns, bed linen, towels, microfiber mops, floor mats, cubicle curtains, medical staff scrubs, and surgical gowns.
“ImageFIRST is an incredible partner in providing necessary supplies to One World Surgery as we build a new medical center in the Dominican Republic,” said Claire Cunningham, CEO of One World Surgery. “Many people in the surrounding communities face significant barriers accessing the health system and this center will provide life-changing care. We are so grateful to work with a company committed to global health and service!”
ImageFIRST’s support for One World Surgery represents the values-driven, family-focused mission of the company. ImageFIRST partners with organizations and groups locally, nationally, and globally, totaling in donations surpassing $500,000 each year, as well as invite their associates to participate in community service events monthly. In addition to One World Surgery, ImageFIRST supports community-based organizations including local chapters of Ronald McDonald Houses and Back on My Feet, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, local Boys and Girls Clubs, United Way, and March of Dimes.
