Giving Back to Our Future: ImageFIRST Corporate Office Volunteers with Cradles to Crayons

The first of three community giving events planned for our ImageFIRST Corporate Office during the summer of 2017 recently took place on July 26th in Philadelphia, PA. Our corporate associates volunteered at Cradles to Crayons for a half day of work aimed at helping out the children of our next generations.

Too many families struggle just to pay rent, groceries, and gas for the week. Sparing $20 for an extra outfit or new shoes for school just isn't an option for some parents, regardless of how desperately they would love to support their children. That’s why organizations like Cradles to Crayons and exist, and why we’re grateful for the opportunity to help.

Cradles to Crayons

Cradles to Crayons is a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing children with the essentials they need to have an equal chance at happiness. They gather and prepare packages that are tailored to a child's specific needs through hosted drives and fundraisers. 

Some of the donation items Cradles to Crayons distribute each year to tens of thousands of kids include the following:

• Socks
• Shoes
• Jackets and coats
• Shirts
• Books
• Backpacks
• Notebooks
• Pens and pencils

And More.

With three different ways for everyone to help, Cradles to Crayons allows individuals, groups, and corporate volunteers like ImageFIRST contribute to their mission. Anyone can fund the cause, donate goods through recycling new or gently used items, or participate in community-based events within the non-profit organization's Giving Factories.

The Event

For several hours, our volunteers from ImageFIRST Corporate sorted clothing donations into bins labeled by age for children. The donations were then processed and packaged in the Cradles to Crayons warehouse before they were taken to local children in need.

One of our associates wrote a thank you email after the event, saying, "There are over 300,000 children living in poverty in the Philadelphia area alone...The work we did yesterday helped supply some of those kids with the essentials they need."

At ImageFIRST, all of our associates take pride in their daily work and go the extra mile to leave a smile on the faces of those they meet. Quarterly community events inspire our associates to give back to the communities they live in and make a positive difference in the lives of others. The volunteer event with Cradles to Crayons was one that the ImageFIRST Corporate Office welcomed eagerly and was grateful for upon completion.
