ImageFIRST Conducts Annual Backpack Drive for Local Students in Need
For the fourth year in a row, the ImageFIRST Corporate Office located in King of Prussia, Pa., conducted a Backpack Donation Drive to help local students in need be prepared for the new school year with a new backpack and supplies.
The event kicked off on Monday, July 1st. The office selected the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia to donate backpacks to, which serves children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The not-for-profit provided a list of materials and total backpack needed for the students by grade. ImageFIRST purchased all of the backpacks, while associates were asked to bring in the needed school supplies.
The approximately 50 associates were split into teams, kicking off a friendly competition, each team purchasing supplies including:
- Spiral and composition notebooks
- Pencils
- Scissors
- Glue and glue sticks
- Rulers
- Folders
- Crayons and colored pencils
- Tape
- Tissues
- Hand sanitizers
The competition ran through the end of July. While all associates participated, in early August, a team of volunteer associates stuffed the backpacks with the supplies. In true ImageFIRST form, the associates stuffed over 200 backpacks in less than 30 minutes!
A different set of volunteer associates then delivered the backpacks directly to the kids on Monday, August 13th.
Each quarter, ImageFIRST locations nationwide choose a worthwhile cause to which they donate their time and resources. These volunteer events serve as a way to strengthen the bonds between our associates and the communities that we serve. Giving back to our community is one just way in which we aspire to be a remarkable medical laundry service and supplier.
