Rise Against Hunger: Giving Back in a Critical Time
Health and wellness represent the core of our company and the services we provide. And when we get the chance to promote health and wellness in our communities, we dive in with dedicated hands and full hearts.
A key part of health and wellness is proper nutrition. And with COVID-19 severely affecting millions of families, we decided to make fighting hunger a big part of ImageFIRST’s annual Community Giving Day event.
Working with Rise Against Hunger, hundreds of ImageFIRST employees in Lancaster, PA, Detroit, North Carolina, Tampa, Atlanta, Clifton, NJ, and our King of Prussia headquarters participated in meal packaging events. In all, we packed over 63,000 meals for families at risk.
Other ImageFIRST locations worked with local charitable organizations on Community Giving Day, and several of them focused on hunger as well. In St. Louis, we worked with St. Anthony Food Pantry. Our Kansas City team worked with Harvesters - Community Food Network. And in Miami, we worked with Miami Rescue Mission.
While Community Giving Day is an annual event, this year we’re determined to do even more. We’ve signed on as a Coalition Sponsor for Rise Against Hunger’s World Food Day on Friday, October 16.
“We’re excited that several of our offices decided to support Rise Against Hunger for our annual Community Giving Day 2020,” said Jamee Niles, vice president of human resources at ImageFIRST. “This unprecedented year has been very challenging for many, making our ongoing community giving efforts that much more important. Sponsoring the World Food Day is another way we can help bring awareness to food security and the importance of achieving Zero Hunger.”
Community Giving Day is our annual event designed to mobilize our many offices on one specific day and give all our ImageFIRST associates the opportunity to help bring to life this part of our Purpose in unity. As a company, beyond Community Giving Day, we participate in over 50 community service events across America every year. And this effort to tackle hunger promises to be one of our most meaningful yet.
How can you get involved?
Join Rise Against Hunger for a live broadcast event at 2 p.m. ET on October 16. During this “hour of impact,” volunteers across the U.S. will come together to package 100,000 meals for communities worldwide. Even if you can’t pack meals, you can donate to Rise Against Hunger and show your support. Thank you!
