ImageFIRST Donates Medical Linen for Haiti Earthquake Relief
On August 14, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean nation of Haiti. Now named the deadliest natural disaster in Haiti since the 2010 earthquake, thousands of homes, facilities, and families are facing severe devastation.
As with any disaster, resources have quickly become limited.
Therefore, when ImageFIRST leaders learned of this tragedy, the team sprang into action.
In collaboration with Health Equity International/St. Boniface Hospital (HEI/SBH), an award-winning leader in providing accessible and quality healthcare in Haiti, several ImageFIRST locations across the nation came together to gather supplies to send to Haiti.
Donated items included hospital bed sheets, various patient gowns including pediatric gowns, and surgical towels — totaling over 4,000 pieces. These donated resources will aid in providing necessary medical supplies to care for patients at St. Boniface Hospital in Haiti.
A Continued Partnership
This lasting partnership between ImageFIRST and HEI/SBH began back in 2010 when hospital supplies were needed after the devastating 2010 earthquake. Back in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams partnered once again to acquire additional medical linen for the hospital in Haiti.
HEI/SBH is the only facility in the affected region with significant surgical and emergency capacity to care for the exceptionally high volume of patients. Our recent donation significantly supports these efforts by expanding their available stock of hospital linens.
Having access to clean, sanitary linens is vital, as they can help to minimize the risk of infection, can be sanitized and reused multiple times to reduce waste, and aid in providing more dignified care to patients.
Living Our Purpose
This effort to provide aid amid tragedy exemplifies Our Purpose — to build a great company by positively impacting the lives of our associates, our community, our customers, and their patients. Whether it is serving our local community or a community internationally, stories like these are what make ImageFIRST so special. Thank you to our remarkable team for working so diligently and swiftly to gather supplies during this critical time. Your efforts will impact thousands.
